Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead financial and accounting operations through robust systems, procedures, and internal controls
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and federal regulations; support successful audits
  • Direct budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis aligned with organizational goals
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and oversee year-end closing procedures
  • Manage cash flow, contracts, billing, and fund management processes
  • Partner with senior leadership to develop budgets, cost plans, and revenue forecasts
  • Mentor and supervise the finance team to foster a positive and productive workplace
  • Develop and implement purchasing policies, credit card procedures, and fleet management strategies

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus
  • 5-7 years of experience in healthcare, human services, or professional services sectors
  • Proficiency with accounting systems (preferably Dynamics SL), excellent at Excel, and report writing tools
  • Strong knowledge of non-profit accounting, GAAP, A-133 compliance, and cost accounting
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership in team management and process improvement initiatives
  • Familiarity with government contracting processes and cost reporting is highly desirable

Physical & Work Environment:

  • Primarily sedentary work at a desk with some walking and standing
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Occasionally lift or carry items weighing up to 10 lbs; handle short deadlines and periods of high stress
