Our Massachusetts based client is seeking a Production Support Engineer/Developer for a contract role.

Candidates must be able to work on our W2.

Production Support Engineer/Developer Overview
The Investment Management middle office Production Support Developer has a combination of experience in technical, investment, and people skills working in a fast paced, innovative, and collaborative environment. Both emotional intelligence and the ability to solve complex problems and communicate effectively are key to success. Ideally, candidate will have a strong background in Angular and MS-SQL application support and related technical stack to support the migration of a new application to production and subsequent support as the application is enhanced as well as triage any production issues that arise. Looking for a well-rounded individual that is familiar with problem solving; reporting and escalation; production support procedures and related activities; release management; change management; and comfortable working with business users, business analysts, product owners, developers, and related interfacing support teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support migration of a large SQL and Angular UI application into production
  • Provide on-call production application triage and resolution for a major financial application
  • Lead periodic application releases into deployment in an Agile JIRA Scrum environment
  • Schedule changes using standard policy and procedures
  • Set up and support of batch job scheduling and execution (TWS)

 

  • ETL (Informatica) support experience
  • Support the development of minor BAU application enhancements to support the business
  • Manage all the stages of software development production support lifecycle
  • Provide problem summaries, resolution plans, and timeframes to various stakeholders and escalation channels using corporate procedures and guidelines
  • Assist with corporate compliance requirements related to implementation and support
  • Document support plans and changes to application and environment

  • Ability to work with project teams to enhance application
  • Experience using a DevOps delivery model
  • Knowledgeable in migration of SQL Server to AWS cloud and related application support
  • SQL Server Management Studio, Sqlcmd, and related batch scripting
  • GitHub, CI/CD, Jenkins, Dockers, Nginx web servers, HTTP /REST, JIRA, and NFS experience
  • TWS batch job scheduling and triage preferred
  • HTML5, CSS3, Javascript (Angular) and Python (Angular)
  • Understand and support/debug database constraints, indexes, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.  Understand/use/manipulate queries along with script based database migrations
  • Minimum of 5 years corporate development experience in an investment management environment
  • Bachelor’s degree
